As the actress said to the bishop

"...as the actress said to the bishop." is probably an old musichall punchline that turns an apparently innocuous comment into something more salacious.

An example would be

"I've always wanted to work under you"

...

"as the actress said to the bishop."

The context is Andy saying of this wiki "I wanted a public bucket". Bucket is, in British English, a slang term for a lady's bits. So I replied "...as the actress said to the bishop"

See, it's not funny if you have to explain it. And arguably wasn't funny anyway.

...

The US equivalent might be "That's what SHE said."
